Chapter Election 2013

Voting will be open from June 1st to June 10th.  You can vote online at .  This election is about more than just voting for the next term Board Officers.  It is about keeping the Chapter strong by your participation.  The following is a list of the candidates with the office descriptions from the chapter bylaws:



The Chairman shall preside at all meetings of the Chapter, and shall perform all other duties normally associated with the office.

Arthur Willetts CTO.  Arthur is Chief Operator for KWDK Television.  Arthur has 22.5 years in television broadcast.  He is a Certified Television Operator.  He is employed by Daystar Television Network as Chief Op for KWDK.  Arthur has had continuous SBE Member since  2003 and has served Chapter 16 as Secretary for two terms in 2010-2012, Chairman for 2012-2013.  He has also served on Nominations & Election Committee 2011-2013.  He attended SBE National Strategic Planning Conf. in Indianapolis 2012 and is currently working on SBE National Membership Task Group



The Vice-Chairman shall assume the duties of the Chairman in his or her absence, and shall assist the Chairman with other duties normally associated with the office. The Vice-Chairman will be the Program Chair.

Dale Comer, CBT.  Dale is Maintenance Engineer KBTC Public Television.  I am involved in the operation, installation and repair of television automation, transmitters, network systems, routers and distribution of KBTC to air, cable and consumer satellite services. Dale is a Certified Broadcast Technologist and has been a member of SBE since 2008.  Dale is also a member of SMPTE.






The Secretary shall record the minutes of all meetings of the Chapter. The Secretary shall be responsible for the circulation of meeting notices and shall send meeting reports and attendance records to the Society Executive Secretary, and shall keep any other Chapter records as may become necessary.

Yezmin E. Blue CBTE, CBT.  Yezmin is Manager of Broadcast Engineering for the Seattle Mariners at Safeco Field.  Yezmin has served as Chapter Secretary for the last year.  Yezmin is also a member of SMPTE and The Baseball Industry Network.

Yezmin is a graduate of City University of Seattle with a BSCS in Computer Systems, and Bates Technical College with an AA in Broadcast Technologies





The Treasurer shall be responsible for all records and books of account of the Chapter. All of his or her records shall be open to inspection by members in good standing at reasonable times. The Treasurer shall generally supervise all accounts and monies of the Chapter. The Treasurer shall keep any other Chapter financial records as they become necessary.

Jon Kasprick CBRE, CEA.  Jon works at Metro Sound (Audio and Broadcast Services), Green River Community College.  Jon is an electronics and software engineer with diverse experiences in mission critical defense systems and audio/broadcast engineering.  Jon works with mission computing and simulation of airborne warning and control systems, research and development project management, and test and calibration of electronic equipment and systems.  Jon is involved in design and operation of broadcast, recording and performance facilities and music production and performance.
Jon is a Washington State licensed Professional Engineer (electronics & communication systems), and SBE certified Audio and Radio Broadcast Engineer



Board Director, Position 1

Dave Ratener CPBE.  Dave is Chief Engineer for Sandusky Seattle (KQMV-FM, KRWM-FM, KWJZ-FM, KIXI-AM, KKNW-AM).   Dave has also served as Chief Engineer at KIRO FM, Bonneville Broadcasting.

Dave has been working in broadcasting as a chief engineer for more than 30 years, both in television and radio.  Dave has been served as chairman and other offices in Seattle Chapter 16.  Dave’s passion is to bring in new people to the SBE.

Marty Hadfield, CPBE.  Marty is Director of Engineering for Clear Channel Media and Entertainment for the Seattle Market.

Marty has served as Director of Engineering for Alpha Broadcasting in Portland, Broadcast Engineer  for Qualcomm, FLO-TV, and VP of EngineeringEntercom at Entercom Seattle.
