Man Dies of Possible Electrocution

A contract engineer working at WDMS radio station in Greenville is believed to have been electrocuted Thursday while repairing the station’s transmitter. Jerold Campbell, 73, of Oxford was pronounced dead about 12:25 p.m. after being taken to Delta Regional Medical Center. Steve Shelton, general manager of the station, says the transmitter failed about 5 a.m. Thursday. Campbell, a subcontractor, was called to make repairs. Shelton says the station’s staff offers condolences to Campbell’s family.
Details of the accident were not clear. Campbell’s body was sent to Jackson for an autopsy. The death is under investigation.
