Dear SBE Chapter 16 members: On September 22nd we officially started the fall. Days are shorter, the air is crisp, and we all carry an extra jacket to our outings.
With the baseball season winding down and football season at full speed, many of us are fully committed to fantasy football; Or, if that is not your thing, maybe you are catching up with to-do-lists before we lose more daylight. If you do not follow sports or look for any excuse to not finish those to-do-lists. Fall still offers other options.
To me, nothing sounds better than taking the time to catch up with local, or national broadcast events that can keep me informed, as well as meeting with vendors and participating in some good old fashioned networking.
During the first week of October, ABS has its annual expo at Fremont Studios on the 4th, as well as in Portland on the 6th. Check the ABS Advanced Broadcast Solutions website for information and registration should you wish to attend.
If your schedule conflicts with local events, or, if you can’t travel to some of the great happenings such as the SVG Summit in New York, or SMPTE Annual Technical Conference & Exhibition in Hollywood, California; sign up for a wide variety of webinars on SBE National. Some of them are free, but don’t limit your search to the SBE site, most broadcast suppliers such as Sony, Grass Valley, Belden etc. frequently offer webinars. Also, you can find white papers, studies and upcoming events on these sites.
If all the options above fail, remember that your SBE Chapter 16 can bring to you a variety of topics and presenters. If you’re interested, just reach out and let us know.
Please join us in the upcoming October activities.
