The SBE Chapter 15 June meeting was held online on Wednesday the 8th. Kirk Harnack of The Telos Alliance made a Zoom presentation on a new approach to integrating broadcast hardware and hardware called “Containerized Software”. Kirk talked about key functionalities that now run-on commodity computer servers, providing audio mixing, on-air phone operation, and broadcast intercom services. Kirk explained how new operating interfaces can include user-provided touchscreens or any device with a browser. However, software containers can interact with traditional hardware endpoints such as talkshow controllers, intercom panels, and beltpacks.
