Clay Freinwald, a long-time member of the Society of Broadcast Engineers (member number 714) and Seattle Chapter 16, has announced his retirement from writing Clay’s Corner. Clay began writing his column in 1986 on his Apple 2E, saved it to a floppy disc, and gave it to John Forbes, editor of the “Waveguide.” In those days, the Waveguide was a monthly printed newsletter with a bright canary yellow cover that was “snail” mailed to members and friends, as well as station management around the state. Numerous other broadcast organizations around the country also published Clay’s Corner.
