From the Chair – Yezmin Blue

Yezmin HSDear SBE Chapter 16 members, what a start to our month of November! Rain, rain, rain and yes more rain.  One thing is for sure, our pavements are pretty clean.

Last month in Columbus Ohio; SBE had its National Meeting. If you were not able to attend in person, the video is available to view on the SBE National Website.

Webinar opportunities of the month of November will take place on Thursday the 15th. The topic is, IP Network Security Part 2, presented by Wayne Pecena.

As some of you may have already heard or viewed in our local newspapers The old spaghetti factory in Elliott bay will be closing at the end of December. Hope you have an opportunity to check out this designated landmark location before it closes.  Link of article:

Although I have only been Chair for our chapter for a few months, and participated as part of the board for the last few years, one of the sentiments we face every year is finding new members willing to join the board.

The need for new presenters, topics, and activities for our Chapter is a challenging task that is achieved by a small group of individuals that volunteer several hours a week during their term.

With our next election, (although several months away) I want to take the opportunity to encourage you to plan to give back by volunteering.

Being part of the board is not the only option; Presenting for our chapter in any area you are well versed in, writing an article for our website and most activities related to our field transfer as points when it’s time to get recertified.

As always it will be great to see you during our November activities:

Board meeting: November Monday 7th @ 6:30 to 8:30pm Location: Claim Jumper Restaurant, Tukwila (South Center).  All members are welcome to Board meetings.

SBE Luncheon, November Wednesday 9th @ noon, Old spaghetti Factory South center/Tukwila Boulevard.  Directions and additional information on the “Meetings” tab above.

Regards, Yezmin Blue
